My Story



Hi, I'm Tracy Bodine, owner of Pies by Inge. I joined the bakery in 2009 and became the sole owner in 2016. My family and I have lived in Monticello since 1995. My husband Darren and I have five children, with the two youngest adopted from Ethiopia in 2010.


I grew up in a small town in Central Illinois, surrounded by family and food, with a lineage of great cooks. After earning a degree in Retail Merchandising and Business, I worked in Management and Human Resources.  I moved companies and states, but after marriage we wanted to get back closer to family and landed in Monticello.  Once my children were a little older, I started helping a friend at the bakery, which led to ownership. Despite never having made a pie before, I could now do it in my sleep!


My goal is to continue making the quality desserts you have grown to love and expand my business into more restaurants and coffee shops for others to enjoy.  I can't wait to see what's next!

QUICK PICK PIES



If you have an event come up suddenly or just run out of time to make your own dessert, give us a call to see if we can help.  We try to keep a variety of frozen premade pies for just those times. The varieties of pies are constantly changing so please call The Brown Bag at 217-762-9221, and they can tell you the current inventory.  


Just unwrap pie and thaw at room temperature. You may also reheat in a low oven if you wish!  They look as if fresh out of the oven and taste just as delicious!
